The girls track and field team finished out their season at the Sectional Meet last night in Rochelle.
There were strong performances across the board and the night ended with three athletes earning all-sectional honors and one athlete qualifying for the State Finals next weekend.
Lydia Garrett finished in 7th place in a time of 51.40 for the 300 Hurdles. She was the conference champions a week earlier and missed out an All-Sectional place by only .15 seconds.
Mary Frost finished out her high school career with an excellent race, finishing 5th in the 3200m with a personal record of 12:09. She received All-Sectional recognition for her finish.
Abi Gum also ran the last races of her high career, finishing 7th in the 200m and 5th in the 400m, after running a personal best of 63.27. She also received All-Sectional recognition for her performance in the 400m.
Alyssa Mantia was able to secure a trip to the State Finals next week, by running a time of 11:40 in the 3200m. She will be competing next Saturday and will represent Wheaton Academy at the State Meet.
