Lacrosse Ranked Ninth in Preseason Rankings

March 23^rd, 2021 – Entering the 2021 season, the Wheaton Academy lacrosse team is ranked No. 9 in the state, regardless of division, according to the True Lacrosse Illinois Pre-season Rankings in a poll released on March 19^th.

According to Coach Mike Gabel, the Founder and Co-owner of True Lacrosse Illinois, "people need to start paying attention to what is going on in West Chicago. Wheaton Academy is becoming a sleeping giant in the western suburbs. They might have one of the freshmen classes in the state this year. How good are they going to be? Well, I have heard teams are refusing to add them to their schedule. If their young players can play with confidence and minimize mistakes when the game is on the line, we may see them late in the spring."

Player watch list: Tre Becks, Seamus Faulkner, Zach Casas, Aiden Weisenborn, and Liam White.

The Warriors begin their season by hosting Nazareth Academy on April 21^st. In the 2018-19 season, Wheaton Academy posted an 11-7 record and advanced to the Sectional Semifinals.
