It is with both gratitude and sadness that we share the news that Coach
Geof Weisenborn has announced that this will be his final year at Wheaton Academy. After much thought and prayer, Geof has accepted a position at Mount Paran Christian School.
In his announcement, Coach Weisenborn wrote:
"After much thought and prayer, I want to share that this will be my final year at Wheaton Academy. I have accepted a position at Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. Serving at Wheaton Academy for the past thirteen years has been a tremendous privilege and a deeply rewarding experience… I am deeply thankful for each of you and for the time we have spent serving together."
Geof's impact on Wheaton Academy and on the lives of hundreds of student‑athletes cannot be overstated. His faithful service has shaped our lacrosse community to be where young men are challenged to grow as competitors, teammates, and followers of Jesus.
Since taking over the boys' lacrosse program in the 2012–13 season, Coach Weisenborn has guided Wheaton Academy to remarkable and consistent success, including:
- 168 wins and 72 losses
- A .700 winning percentage
- 2022 (Super-Sectional Qualifier), 3rd place at State.
- 2023 (Super-Sectional Qualifier), State Championship
- 2024 Sectional Appearance
- 2025 (Super-Sectional Qualifier), 3rd place at State

His leadership has shaped the identity of Wheaton Academy Lacrosse competitive, disciplined, and grounded in Christ. He has mentored players, developed young men who have gone on to play lacrosse in college, and faithfully led a program that reflects our school's mission.
Coach Weisenborn and our current lacrosse staff will continue to lead the team throughout the 2025-26 season. As an athletic department, we will begin the process of appointing the next head boy's lacrosse coach. We are confident that the foundation Geof has built will continue to strengthen our program for years to come.
