The Wheaton Academy Warrior football team defeated ACC on Friday night by a score of 26-6. The muddy game field made for slippery conditions, and the Warriors were able to outlast the Chargers after a late push from ACC.
Wheaton Academy got on the board first with a 8-yard touchdown run from QB
Shane Baumgarten in the first quarter. Wheaton Academy played stout defense in the first half, allowing only 16 total yards. The Warriors put another score on the board before halftime on a
Stephen Garner 3 yard touchdown run to take a 14-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Wheaton Academy extended the lead to 20-0 on a 5 yard touchdown pass from QB
David Dorn to
Christian Pares. ACC made a late push, scoring to cut the lead to 20-6 and then recovering an onside kick, but the Warriors responded quickly with an interception and 13-yard touchdown run by
Jayson Rucker to account for the 26-6 final.
On offense,
David Dorn completed 10 of 17 passes for 124 yards and 1 touchdown.
