October 29th, 2025- FIGHT ON!
Head Boys Football Coach, Jim Johanik announces he is stepping down today, after six seasons with the Warriors. Jim announced that he would step down as his role in ministry increases.
Jim's impact on our football program — and on the lives of countless student-athletes — cannot be overstated. His leadership has been foundational to the culture we've built, one that seeks to honor Jesus Christ both on and off the field. Under Jim's guidance, Wheaton Academy Football has grown not only in competitiveness, but in character, discipleship, and purpose.
Jim stepped into the head coaching role in 2019, following years of service as a JV coach and mentor. His journey began as a parent in the stands, cheering for his son, and evolved into a calling to invest deeply in the lives of young men. Over the years, he has assembled and led a remarkable coaching staff, cultivated a Christ-centered team culture, and helped shape a program that reflects the heart of our school's mission.
We want thank Jim for his extraordinary dedication, his spiritual leadership, and his unwavering commitment to excellence. He has left his mark on the program, and we are deeply grateful for the way he has poured into our students, families, and community.
Jim and the current coaching staff will continue to lead the team through the off-season as we begin the process of appointing the next head football coach. We are confident that the foundation Jim has laid will continue to bear fruit in the years ahead.
Please join us in thanking Coach Johanik for his faithful service and in praying for God's guidance as we take the next steps forward.
FIGHT ON, WARRIORS!
