Wheaton Academy traveled to Elgin to play St. Edward on Friday night, ultimatly falling to the Green Wave 60-21. Â It was 0-0 after the first quarter, and St. Edward got on the board with their first touchdown 4 minutes into the 2nd quarter. Â The Warriors answered with a quick touchtown of their own, a long touchdown pass from
David Thrasher to
Marino Costello. Â St Edward was able to score three more times before the half, taking a 29-0 lead into halftime. Â
St. Edward wore down the Warriors in the second half with big plays and a powerful running game. Â Wheaton Academy was able to score twice more, both on touchdown passes from Thrasher to Costello.
Thrasher finished the night completing 13 of 22 passes for 310 yards and 3 touchdowns. Â
Marino Costello caught three passes for 101 yards, all three catches for touchdowns. Â
