Warriors fall to ICCP in Elmhurst

Wheaton academy boys varsity team traveled to Elmhurst to take on Immaculate Conception College Prep tonight.

The first quarter was very fast-paced, both teams hitting open shots and playing aggressive defense. The score at the end of the first quarter was 19 to 17. Jameson Teuscher, senior guard, hit two 3 pointers in the first quarter to keep the Warriors on pace. The second quarter was much slower , and the Warriors switched to a 3-2 zone at points to try and slow down ICCP. The Warriors are able to  Force a few turnovers and finished the first half down by six points. Jameson Teuscher and Jack Dykema each had buckets in the second quarter. 

The Warriors came out in a frenzy to start the third quarter scoring multiple baskets and forcing consecutive turnovers to tie up the game early in the third. Much of the third-quarter went back-and-forth teams trading baskets the Warriors got buckets from JD Gunn and Jimmy Paganis. In the fourth quarter, ICCP hit a few of their open looks early, to stretch their lead to double digits. The Warriors had multiple opportunities, but could not convert until eventually the game was out of reach. JD Gunn played extremely hard, And finish the game with a 18 points and 15+ rebounds. The Warriors played a competitive game for most of the night, but ultimately it came down to missed shots and timely turnovers.
