The Wheaton Academy boys basketball team defeated Kaneland 59-47 in their final game of the Burlington Central MLK tournament. The Warriors trailed 17-8 after the first quarter before outscoring the Knights 16-8 in the second quarter. The Warriors tightened up on the defensive end and executed on the offensive end in the fourth quarter outscoring the Knight 25-10 to secure the victory. Junior, 
JD Gunn led all scorers with 19 points. The Warriors also saw strong contributions from Juniors, 
Michael Callentine and 
Noah Starkey. Callentine finished with a season high 13 points and Starkey tallied 12 points, including 6-6 from the free throw line.
The Freshman and Sophomore teams both went 4-0 and won the MLK tournament outright!
The Warriors will be back in action as they host Guerin Prep in a Metro Suburban Conference crossover contest. The Friday night game is Middle School Night. Click
