The Wheaton Academy Warrior football team dropped their final home game of the season, a 40-10 loss to the Knights of Immaculate Conception. The loss puts the Warriors' record at 4-3 for the season.
The game was closely contested in the first half with Wheaton Academy controlling the ball for much of the half and heading into halftime losing 7-3. The Warriors got on the board thanks to a
Kordell Bowling 28-yard field goal. IC's lone touchdown of the half came on a 43-yard touchdown pass.
Wheaton Academy kicked off in the second half and gave up a touchdown to make it 14-3. The Warriors drove the length of the field on the ensuing possession, but threw an interception in the red zone, and IC scored a couple plays later on a 90-yard touchdown run to make it 20-3. IC scored three more timed in the fourth quarter until David Thraher found
Steven Sellers on a 28-yard touchdown strike to account for the final score of 40-10.
On offense, the Warriors amassed 297 total yards. Thrasher completed 16 of 33 passes for 179 yards and 1 touchdown.
Chase Martin had 22 carries for 99 yards.
Steven Sellers caught 5 passes for 60 yards and 1 TD.
On defense, the Warriors were lead by
Chase Martin's 9 total tackles.
Grady Crawford also pitched in 8 tackles.
