Soccer Bounces Back, Shuts-out Metea Valley

August 31st, 2022- The Wheaton Academy Warriors battled to a 1-0 victory against a strong Matea Valley opponent Wednesday night in the St. Charles Invitational tournament. The two teams battled through the midfield, trading possession and corner kicks until Joshua Mariotti found the breakthrough goal in the 72^nd minute of play. Troy Erickson's cross kicked out of the box to Mariotti, who found the back of the net for his first goal of the 2022 campaign.

Declan Finnegan and the backline that featured a host of Warriors - Erickson, Logan Bates, Asher Barton, Micaiah Bovey, and "Tebo" Shinetulga, recorded their 3^rd shutout of the season.

The Warriors improve to 2-2-1 on the season and will play their final match of the St. Charles Invitational Saturday morning at either 10am or 12p pending results from the rest of pool play.
