GAME RECAP:
The Wheaton Academy Warriors moved to 3-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference with a thrilling 2-1 win over visiting Timothy Christian on Thursday night. The match was a fast paced and physical affair, forcing both sets of goal keepers to make consistent saves throughout the night.
The Warriors broke the deadlock in the 70
th minute as
Joshua Mariotti beat a number of players on the dribble before sliding a cross to the back post where
Josiah Pitts finds the back of the net. Timothy would equalize with just under 3 minutes on the clock. The Warriors drew a penalty less than a minute later, which Pitts confidently converted to give the Academy the win.
The Warriors improve to 5-2-3 on the season, and return to MSC conference play Tuesday night on the road versus Ridgewood High School.
