2021 Boys Tennis State Tournament Preview

June 9th, 2021 - The Wheaton Academy boys tennis team travels to Hersey High School this weekend for the IHSA 1A Boys Tennis State Tournament, where all six of the Warriors who competed at Sectionals qualified for the State Tournament.

Back in 2019, Wheaton Academy took third place as a team in the most recent State Tournament. This year, the Warriors have put together a 12-4 overall record along with Conference and Sectional Titles.

Jacob Williams and Aidan Hilson took first and second place respectively in the singles division of the Sectional Meet while the duos of Jeremy Kang/David Hill and Jaden Paulson/Jeffrey Master advanced to State by taking second and third place in doubles play at that meet.

During the regular season, Williams put together an 18-1 record at the No. 1 singles position. At No. 2 singles, Hilson went 11-1 after competing in a few doubles matches to begin the year. The tandem of Master/Paulson finished the season with a 9-8 record when playing together while Kang/Hill are 3-2 as doubles partners this year.
