Jan. 26, 2021 – All five of the fall sports programs that competed in the fall of 2020 were nominated for the IHSA Team Academic Award as they each finished the semester above the IHSA's threshold of a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
According to the IHSA, the Team Academic Award, initially introduced by Riverside-Brookfield High School, is designed to reward teamwork not only in competition but in the classroom as well. This award will recognize those teams that maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher throughout their respective seasons.
Twenty-nine fall sports student-athletes maintained a 4.0 GPA while competing in a fall sports program. Overall, the Wheaton Academy fall sports average GPA was 3.77 for all five programs combined.
On the season, the girls tennis team won four matches, including
Audrey Liftin and
Jillian Paulson advancement to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament by defeating their Elgin Academy opponents.
In a unique year, the Warrior cross country team took fourth place at the Metro Suburban Championship. In the IHSA Sectional meet, the girls earned third place while the boys finished in sixth place.
Girls golf tallied a 5-3 record on the year while taking fourth place at both the conference meet and the IHSA Regional meet.
Finishing the year at 8-0, the boys golf team earned first place at the Metro Suburban Conference Tournament as
