The Warriors of Wheaton Academy advanced to 2-0 in the MSC with a 5-1 victory over the Elmwood Park Tigers Thursday night. The first 20 minutes saw a lot of possession by both teams before the Warriors took the lead in the 25th minute when
Justin Riddle scored his first varsity goal courtesy of a cross from
Logan Finnegan. Finnegan would increase the lead in the 30th minute as
Evan Eckert set him up for the finish. Finnegan notched his second of the night with a PK in the 55th minute. Sam Froslid opened his scoring account for this year with goals in the 50th and 77th minute of play. The Tigers scored late in the second half with a clever shot from the top of the penalty area. The Warriors are 3-1-1 on the season and continue conference play on Tuesday at 6:30pm at Riverside Brookfield.
