The boys' Varsity volleyball team traveled into the city to Lawndale Little Village High School this weekend for their last tournament of the season. The team was focused and primed to defend their title as they were the returning champions from the 2017 season. The Warriors went 5-1 (sets) in pool play, and still finished first in their pool even though they split with Lincoln Park earlier in the day.
The Warriors headed into the semifinals as the overall second seed and were set to face a very good team with a lot of size at the net from Taft High School. The Warriors won in two straight sets controlling the hitters from Taft with great defense and serving them out of system.
The team headed into the finals for a rematch against Lincoln Park High School who they had split with earlier in pool play. The Warriors came out with the energy and were locked in and focused on dominating every aspect of the championship game. Having split with Lincoln Park earlier the boys had something to prove, and wanted to leave no doubt who was the better team today. The Warriors rolled to a 25-13, 25-19 win to repeat as tournament champions.
