Wheaton Academy defeated Riverside Brookfield 4-3 on Tuesday night at home. The Warriors entered the game at 5-2 while the Bulldogs entered at 8-2 overall. The game was tied 1-1 at halftime as Amy Alexander scored off of an assist from Maggie Bailey. In the second half the goals went back and forth. Rebecca Steininger scored off of a pass from Maggie Bailey to make the score 2-1. The Warriors scored again as Alie Domginuez scored on the back post off of an assist by Sophia Lindquist. The Warriors then gave up a goal to make it 3-2 but responded with a goal of their own within just 30 seconds. Amy Alexander tallied her second of the game as Sophia Lindquist set her up for the finish. The Warriors conceded another but won the conference match 4-3 over a strong Riverside Brookfield team.
The Warriors are busy this week with three more games. The Warriors will celebrate their seniors on Thursday night against Aurora Central Catholic at home at 6:15pm.
The Warriors move to 6-2 with the win and are undefeated in conference play.
