Yesterday evening was a rough night for both Boys and Girls Warriors basketball. The teams traveled down the road to St. Francis and faced off against their rivals in non-conference competition.Â
The Wheaton Academy girls played first, with the Coach Carwell's team having a hard time getting into gear as the game progressed. The Lady Warriors got into some foul trouble in the second half, St. Francis ended up running away with the contest 46-30. Freshman Jerilyn Blackmon was a bright spot for Wheaton Academy finishing the game with 12pts.
The boys varsity game was next, and in a physical contest, the Warriors fell short. The contest was tight as the start, with both sides coming out and going back and forth. But St. Francis pulled away, and Wheaton Academy was stuck trying to dig themselves out of the point deficit. The Warriors were dealt the loss, 58-43. Another underclassman stood out for Wheaton Academy with Sophomore
Marcus Bult sharing the points lead with Jayston Williams at 12pts.
