The Wheaton Academy Warriors fell to Downers Grove North 43-25 in game two of the Wheaton Academy Thanksgiving Tournament. DGN jumped out of the gate to a quick 6-0 lead in the opening minutes. The Warriors would rally, but struggle to generate points, going into halftime down 20-4.
Â
The veteran heavy team demonstrated their maturity and poise, beginning the second half with a run of their own, forcing a timeout by DGN. Wheaton Academy's stingy defense continued to keep the team in the game; contesting every shot and not allowing easy buckets. However, the first half deficit proved too large to overcome, and the Warriors finished the night losing 43-25. Â
The team has their lone tournament off night tomorrow, as the other four teams in the tournament continue to play. Wheaton Academy will pick up again Friday (8/27) after Thanksgiving, hosting Brother Rice at 8 pm.
