Palos Heights, IL--Last Thursday night the Warriors were shocked with Walther's barrage of three point shooting to start the game. On Saturday night against Chicago Christian, it was the Warriors that came out firing on all cylinders, scoring their first 9 points off of three-pointers and starting the game by going 7-of-9 from three point range to earn an advantage on the Knights early on in the game. Wheaton Academy led 23-8 after the first quarter.Â
In the second quarter the Warriors continued to shoot the ball and execute plays well, leading at the half with a 27-point, 41-18 lead after
Christian Smith smoothly sunk a jumper from 17 feet as the buzzer sounded.Â
Chicago Christian gave the Warriors some trouble with a full-court press that led to an astonishingly high 23 turnovers for the game (Chicago Christian had 20 turnovers), but the Warriors managed to maintain their 20 point lead throughout the game despite the turnovers.Â

Evan Williams and his aggressive inside play contributed 9 points.Â
The Warriors shot 46% overall from the field (24/52) and 45% for the game from three-point range (11/24). Wheaton Academy out-rebounded the Knights 38-18 and shot 70% (19/27) from the free throw line compared to the Knights' 56% (14/25).Â
Wheaton Academy improves to 16-7 on the season and will face Benet Academy next on Tuesday, February 18 at 7:00 PM in Lisle.Â
