Wheaton Academy started off hot in this rivalry contest of former conference foes, connecting on three of their first four three pointers in cluding two by senior point guard
Bryce Sandberg, but that was about the only bright spot in this one-sided affair. The Spartans lockdown, high energy defense gave the Warriors trouble all night long limiting their ability to run offense and forced Wheaton Academy to take difficult shots. St. Francis was disciplined all four quarters on the offensive end as well setting great screens that got teammates great looks around the basket. The Warriors just could not match the Spartans focus and tempo for all four quarters.
The Spartans were led by Junior Gabe Johnson who led all scorers with 24.
Anthony Polinski finished with double digits for the first time this season piling in 10 points for the Warriors while
Bryce Sandberg added 9. The Warriors next action will be this Friday at home against the Green Wave of St Eds.
