Wheaton Academy defeated St. Francis on Tuesday night by the score of 5-1. With the win the Warriors move on to play in the Regional Finals against the winner of Fenton and Glenbard South. The Warriors opened up scoring early as
Hunter Finnegan bent a ball into the far post within the first 5 minutes of the game. Wheaton Academy failed to capitalize on other opportunities in the first half and went into haltime with a 1-0 lead. In the second half goals were scored by Zimmerman, West, West, and Ruff as the Warriors pulled away to advance deeper into the postseason.
Drew Sezonov held down the goal with 2 saves.
The Warriors will be back at Glenbard South at 4:30on Friday afternoon for the Finals. The win moves the Warriors to 18-3-1 overall.
