Strong Start Sets the Tone

West Chicago, IL—Gabe Partain's three-pointer on the first possession of the game set the tone for the Warriors 54-25 victory over Aurora Central Catholic Friday night in the Warrior Dome. Wheaton Academy went on to make another four three-pointers in the first quarter alone and convert on all but four possessions while ACC struggled to score at all, ending the first quarter with a 25-7 Warrior lead.

Gordon Behr  (16 points, 6 rebounds) continued the onslaught in the second quarter along with Collin Roy (10 points, 5 assists) and Brandon Ruggles (6 points, 11 rebounds), extending Wheaton Academy's lead to 24 points by halftime.

The Chargers had their biggest offensive spurt in the third quarter, scoring 10 points, but did not score at all in the final 8 minutes of play. All Warrior players contributed in Friday night's win, including Will Burdett (3 points) who knocked down a shot from long range and Gabe Partain who finished with 8 points.

Wheaton Academy improves to 14-5 on the season and 6-1 in SCC conference play. The team will gear up for next Tuesday night's game at Immaculate Conception, followed by Marmion Academy on Saturday, February 2. 

Update: Senior night will be on Saturday, February 9 vs. Kaneland.
