On a colder but beautiful Saturday afternoon, Wheaton Academy Soccer put together two solid halves to come away as 1-0 winners over Geneva High School. With both programs having respect for each other, the game is usually a good one. With multiple chances in the first half, including a ball cleared off the goal line by a Geneva player, the Warriors were held at 0-0 at halftime of the match. The second half proved to be the half that the Warriors would break through. A broken ball went to the feet of
Grant Stoneman who beat 2 and finished in the far netting.
Spencer Graf earned the shutout in goal with stellar play by his back four.
The Warriors move to 8-5 on the year and will now play 5 games in 6 games with conference match-ups and St. Viator's tournament, the Mid State Classic.
