The Warriors brought the Sectional plaque back to Wheaton Academy for the first time since 2005 and for the first time ever in the IHSA Soccer three class system.
Casey Zimmerman scored in the first 7 minutes of the game to give the Warriors a 1-0 halftime lead. Stoneman scored in the first minute of the second half to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead. Within the next 5 minutes Riverside was awarded a PK which was converted to make the score 2-1. After the Warriors regained their composure they began to put the pressure on as Stoneman converted on a PK to make it 3-1 and Flynn finished off the game with a goal to make the final score 4-1.
Spencer Graf and his back four played a great game to help the Warriors advance. Wheaton Academy advances as one of the final eight teams in the 2A state tournament and will play at Solorio on Tuesday at 4:00pm.
