Marissa Gagliano has added yet another line to her impressive and growing resume as she has been named as a 2nd-team small-school All-American by MaxPreps, the highest profile high school web site in the country. The small school team includes schools with enrollments of fewer than 1,000 students.

Gagliano has committed to Radford University. She hit .642 in the regular season to lead the Warriors to the Suburban Christian Conference Gold championship. In 19 regular season games, she recorded 43 hits in 73 plate appearances, including 3 doubles and a triple. She also scored 35 runs and stole 30 bases in 31 attempts. Defensively, she recorded an incredible .990 fielding percentage at shortstop with only one error in 97 total chances.

Just this past weekend, Gagliano helped her Beverly Bandits 16U team (coached by Jenn Tyrrell) win one of the nation's most prestigious travel tournaments when her squad captured the Boulder (CO) Independence Day Tournament. The Bandits won the title game, 8-1, over the Tennessee Fury. Gagliano's travel team includes girls committed to schools such as LSU, Oregon, and South Carolina, among others.
