Two WA baseball players have been recognized by the Suburban Christian Conference as all-Conference players, Pitcher/OF
Jake Cousins, Sr., and 1B
Kyle Uitermarkt , Sr. . Both players will play for the Gold Division in the 1st Annual SCC All-Star game versus the SCC Blue Division All Stars.
Jake Cousins is a 3 year starter on the Varsity for the Warriors and will play next year for the University of Pennsylvania. Jake Led the Warriors on the mound this year with 60 strikeouts and a 2.26 E.R.A. . Jake had back to back outings where he allowed 0 earned runs and only 1 hit with 23 strikeouts. When Jake was not on the mound he was patrolling Right field where he had 4 assists throwing runners out. Jake batted .313 as the third hitter in the Warrior batting order; he struck out only 5 times in 83 at bats for the 2013 season.
Kyle Uitermarkt is a 2 year starter for the Varsity team. He was remarkably consistent all year batting over .300 all year before finishing with a .308 average. Kyle,(1B/DH) , also led the Warriors in Runs Batted In and doubles in the 2013 season.
Both players will play for the Gold Division team in the 1st Annual SCC All-Star game at Lee Pfund Field (Wheaton College) on June 11, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m.
