Wheaton West gets 9-1 win

The JV Wheaton West Wild hockey team concluded their regular season Tuesday night with an impressive 9-1 victory over Batavia with Michael Kammes and Tyler Nelson contributing assists. The team is playing its best hockey as it enters the playoffs. The JV will play in their first round state playoff game -The Blackhawk Cup - in Niles on Friday night at 7:45 pm. And the team's opening league playoff game - The Courage Cup - will be played on Sunday morning at 8:15 am in Addison. Please come support your team!
And, congratulations to Josh Lee who was named an alternate on the JV All Star Team.

The JV Hockey team played two games over the past weekend. On Saturday, the JV tied first place AWF 4-4 with Michael Kammes adding an assist in the effort.
On Sunday the JV team fought back from a 3-1 deficit to unfortunately lose 4-3 against Lyons Township. Josh Lee and Tyler Nelson both scored goals and Michael Kammes had an assist.

Congratulations to Bobby Gryfinski for being named a member of the 2008 Illinois All-Star Suburban Hockey Team. Bobby represented his team, Wheaton West as well as his individual high school Wheaton Academy. As a high school senior, Bobby was eligible to play in this prestigious all-star game. It should be noted that Bobby was previously selected as the alternate member of this team as a freshman, sophomore, and junior student, a unique honor indeed. Congratulations Bobby on our behalf, for this fine achievement on high school hockey. (From ISHL Executive Board of Directors).

The Wheaton West Wild JV posted two more wins this past week. On Thursday Wheaton West beat Batavia 11-5. Michael Kammes scored two goals while Tyler Nelson and Josh Lee had strong contributions offensively and defensively, On Sunday Wheaton West beat Brother Rice 8-2. Michael Kammes had a Playmaker, 3 assists, while Josh Lee had an outstanding game defensively. Tyler nelson had multiple shots on goal in the winning effort.

The Wheaton West Wild JV Hockey team played in the 5th Annual Gator Cup hockey tournament over the Christmas break. They went 1(win)-2(loss) in the tournament. Their 2-1 victory had Mike Kammes scoring and an assist. The team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the tournament.
On January 6th, the JV had a 9-2 win over Lincoln Way-Central, WA players, Mike Kammes, Josh Lee and Tyler Nelson all scored in the game. It was a great team effort.
The team welcomes you to come cheer them on at one of their next games. They are at Darien on Saturday, 1/12 at 9:00 pm and at their home ice, Center Ice in Glen Ellyn on Sunday, 1/3 at 7:20 pm.
