The Warriors wrapped up their regular season play with a win over the visiting Titans of IMSA. It was Sr. Night in the Warrior Dome and the atmosphere was full of excitement and energy. Thank you to our Seniors for their hard work and dedication over the past four years in the WA volleyball program: Abby Burdett, Camila Chiang, Jessie Garmon, Hanna Larsen, Renatta Gorski, and Jennifer Schmitz.

Warriors Handle Broncos

The Warriors beat the Broncos of Walther Luthern in two straight sets tonight. Bianca Cifaldi had 9 kills, Brianna Tellschow added 3 kills and 3 blocks, Renatta Gorski with 3 kills and 7 serving points, and Jenny Schmitz led the attack with 18 assist. Sydney Vischer had a great all around game with 5 kills, 2 aces, 8 digs, and serving 10 points for the game. The Warriors will have a good week of practices coming up as they head into the final two games of the regular season.

 

Warriros Beat ACS

The Warriors finished off a long stretch of games with a conference win over Aurora Christian tonight. The girls dug deep and pushed past the fatigue to win in three sets. Bianca Cifaldi had a great all around game with 19 kills, 4 aces, and 4 blocks, and Sydney Vischer followed with 7 kills, 2 aces, and 7 digs. The Warriors get a much needed rest and then pick back up next Wednesday against the Broncos of Walther Luthern.

 

Varsity Volleyball loses to St. Edward

Warriors Take 3rd at Schwartzwalder Classic

The Warriors played some of their best volleyball of the season this weekend taking 3rd place at the Schwartzwalder Classic in Aurora. The girls played poised and bounced back from a dissapointing loss in the semifinals to finish strong. Bianca Cifaldi (57 kills) and Sydney Vischer (37 kills), Renatta Gorski (17 kills), and Jennifer Schmitz (122 assist) led the way offensively for the day. The team has picked up their defensive intensity, averaging 11 digs per game, and is starting to gel as a unit. Come out Monday night and support the Warriros for a tough conference match against St. Edwards at 5:30 in the Warrior Dome.

 

Warriors Lose to Guerin

The Warriors had a hard loss to Guerin Prep. The Warriors had beaten Guerin Prep in the first game of the season and are now 1-1 against them.

 

Warriors Lose Tough One

The Warriors lost a tough game to Marian Central Monday night. The Warriors now come off of their toughest stretch of the schedule, and look forward to some rest and some practice time. The girls are back in action Wednesday against Guerin Prep.

On the road this week, the Warriors came up short against Immaculate Conception. After a close first set 25-23, the Warriors lost the second set 25-15.

 

Warriors Handle Walther in Two Straight Sets

The Warriors had a great serving game against Walther recording 15 aces and winning in two straight sets. The girls play in the Wheaton Classic tomorrow at Wheaton South.

 

Volleyball Takes 3rd at Jefferson Invite

The girls' varsity went 4-1 for the day and came in third in the tournament. Bianca Cifaldi and Sydney Vischer led the attack dominating from the outside. Cifaldi recorded 15 kills and Vischer had 9 kills in each match of the day. Jen Schmitz averaged 25 assists per match running the offense. The Warriors open next week with a confernece match in the Warrior Dome against Walther.

 

Warriors Sweep Against Aurora Christian

The varsity, sophomore, and freshman teams were all victorious against Aurora Christian. Varsity had two steady sets winning 25-17 and 25-10. This puts the Varsity Warriors at a record of 6-3 for the season.

Girls Take 1st in Bronze Division

The girls' varsity volleyball took 1st place in the Bronze division Saturday of the West Aurora Invite. Some inconsistent ball control during pool play landed the team in the Bronze division for the medal rounds. The Warriors rallied in the afternoon to play some good ball and took both Plainfield East and Plainfield South in two straight sets. The team resumes conference play next week with big games against St. Edwards and Aurora Christian.

 

Warriors Beat Timothy in Three

The Warriors came out on top in three sets as they beat the Trojans Thursday night. Bouncing back from a tough loss against Batavia Wednesday, the Warriors came out with the focus and energy to dominate the match. Freshman Sydney Vischer had a big night with 11 kills, 10 digs, and added 2 aces with a great serving run at the end to finish off the match. Jen Schmitz led the attack with 30 assist and adding 3 aces of her own. Junior Bianca Cifaldi had another impressive night leading the team with 17 kills and 3 aces. The Warriors are away this weekend playing in the West Aurora Invite.

 

Warriors Tough Loss at Batavia

The Warriors experienced some growing pains with a tough loss to Batavia HS. "This team is young and we're going to have these moments...this is not indicative of who we are...just a rough night...we'll bounce back and be better for it" said Coach Nichols after the match. The Warriors are back in action thursday night at TImothy Christian.

 

Warriors Open with Conference Win

The Varsity volleyball team kicked off its 2011 season with a confernece win over Guerin Prep. The gym was full and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and anticipation to see the 2011 Varsity team in action. Sydney Vischer (9 kills), Brianna Tellschow (4 kills), Jenn Schmitz (34 assist), and BIanca Cifaldi (19 kills) led the Warriors offense tonight. Jessie Garmon (18 digs), Tellschow (4 blocks), Abby Burdett (3 blocks), and Cifladi (12 digs) anchored the defensive agaisnt Guerin. The Warriors are back in action this week as they travel to Batavia, Timothy, and the West Aurora invite.
