Flynn earns summer honors

This summer, David Flynn qualified for the USGA Junior Amateur Championships at Chicago's venerable Flossmore CC, repeating and thereby validating his 2006 achievement of the same. In 2006 David secured a position in the USGA record books as the third youngest ever to reach the final 64, match play section of a USGA Junior Amateur Championship. Though David failed to repeat that feat in 2007, making the 156 player field is considered a significant achievement.

As a freshman at Wheaton Academy last year, St. Charles resident Blake Biddle burst onto the varsity golf scene. This summer, Biddle is showing he is unlikely to taper off any time soon.

His coach saw it all coming.

“I actually did expect that,” Wheaton Academy boys golf coach Bob Broman said. “I’ve followed his progress since third grade. He didn’t let me down.”

Biddle placed second individually at the IHSA Class AA St. Charles North Sectional at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in West Chicago, shooting a 71.
