Varsity Girls Basketball Wins Season Opener

The girls varsity basketball team won it first contest of the year defeating Serena High School 53-41 at the Somonauk Tournament. Sarah Drury recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Ally Witt added 18 points. The girls will play Tuesday night against Somonauk High School at 7pm.

Ally Witt poured in a team high 20 points to lead the girls varsity basketball team to its second win of the season over Somonauk High School 65-41. Renatta Gorski added 10 points and led the team in rebounding with 6. Sarah Drury chipped in 12 points and Abby Burdett came off the bench to contribute 9 points in the win. The girls play Sandwich Wednesday night @ 7pm.

3-0 Start for Varsity Girls Basketball

Sarah Drury led all scorers with 10 points as the Lady Warriors picked up their third win of the season over Sandwich High School 40-29. Marissa Gagliano added 9 points and Ally Witt contributed 8 points and 7 steals. The girls will play Newark High School in the final game of the Somonauk Tournament on Friday at 7pm.

The varsity girls basketball team lost the final game at the Somonauk Tournament to Newark 28-38. Sarah Drury led all scorers with 9 points. The girls move into the Thanksgiving break with a 3-1 overall record and will begin preparing their home opener vs Lisle on November 29th.

Varsity Girls win over Immaculate Conception

The girls varsity basketball team had a big win on the road against conference opponent Immaculate Conception 42-37. After trailing by 5 at half the girls rallied to outscore IC in the 4th quarter 15-9 to record their first conference win of the season. Ally Witt lead all scorers with 18 points going 6-6 from the line in the final quarter. Sarah Drury scored 9 points and Renatta Gorksi added 6 points. The girls will play Marian Central on Saturday, Dec. 3rd, 2:00 tip-off in the Warrior Dome.

Despite a double-double from Sarah Drury 11 points and 11 rebounds and 16 points/10 steals from Ally Witt the lady warriors drop a conference game to Marian Central. The girls will be back in action next Friday, Dec 9th at Guerin Prep.

Behind 25 points from Sarah Drury and 12 points from Ally Witt the girls varsity basketball team recorded its second conference win on the road. Kelly Nemec came off the bench to add 8 points in the win. The girls will play Newark at home on Saturday, December 10th @ 2pm.

Sarah Drury lead the girls basketball team to its first home victory over SCC opponent Aurora Christian. Drury recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The girls move to 3-1 in the SCC Gold and will travel to Chicago Christian tomorrow for a 1:30pm game.

After falling behind 10-3 in the first quarter the Lady Warriors rallied to win a tough game on the road at Chicago Christian. Sarah Drury lead all scorers with 14 points. Kat Maret added 8 points in the win and Annie Scholes came off the bench to drain two 3-pointers down the stretch. Renatta Gorski had a team high 8 rebounds. The girls will travel to Freeport to take on the Pretzels in a non-conference matchup Monday, December 19th, 5:30pm tipoff.

Sarah Drury lead the Lady Warriors to another road win with 17 points. Ally Witt added 11 points. Abby Burdett came off the bench in the fourth quarter to help seal the win going 4/4 from the line. After a short break for Christmas the girls will be back in action at the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic. WA will play Westmont in the opening game of the tournament, 5pm on Dec. 27th.

The varsity girls extend their win streak to 4 with a win over Westmont in the opening game of the Lisle tournament. Sarah Drury lead all scorers with 18 points. Drury scored 13 of her 18 points in the 3rd quarter as the girls outscored Westmont 17-9. Ally Witt was also in double figures with 13 points. The girls will play Timothy Christian tomorrow, 6:30pm tipoff.

Despite double figures from Drury and Witt the Lady Warriors lost to Timothy Christian 44-37. Witt finished with 15 points and Drury added 13 points and 7 rebounds. The girls will play Illiana Christian tomorrow at 3:30pm at Lisle High School.

Execution and teamwork paid big dividends for the Lady Warriors as they defeated Illiana Christian 41-30. Sarah Drury and Ally Witt led the way with 12 and 11 points respectively. Kat Maret added 9 points. The Lady Warriors will square off for the third time this season against Newark in the final game of the tournament. Game time is 5:00pm at Lisle High School.

The girls varsity finished the Lisle tourney on a strong note, defeating Newark 22-20. Sarah Drury lead all scorers with 12 points and Ally Witt added 10 points in the win. Sarah Drury was selected to the All-Tournament Team. The varsity team will be traveling to the Dominican Republic for Winterim and will be back in action on January 14th, 2pm tipoff at home vs. SCC opponent Immaculate Conception.

The varsity girls won their first game back after a Winterim trip to the Dominican Republic. Sarah Drury scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Ally Witt added 10 points in the win. Renatta Gorski scored 6 points. The Lady Warriors move to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in conference. The girls will travel to Aurora Christian on Wednesday, January 18th for a 7:30pm tipoff.

Girls lose hard fought game to Walther Lutheran

The Lady Warriors lost a tough game to the Lady Broncos of Walther Lutheran. After overcoming a 10 point deficit early in the first quarter the girls lead at halftime 28-25. Following a low scoring 3rd quarter WA lead by one point at the start of the 4th quarter. Shooting 47% from the free throw line (11 for 23) the girls fell short losing 43-49. Sarah Drury paced the Lady Warriors with 20 points. The girls will travel to Aurora Central Catholic on Tuesday, January 24th for a 7pm game.

Girls Lose to Guerin Prep

Girls basketball lost a tough game to Guerin Prep on Saturday afternoon in the Warrior Dome. Ally Witt led the Lady Warriors with 18 points. Sarah Drury recorded her sixth double-double of the season, scoring 12 points with 15 rebounds. The girls will play four games this week to finish out the regular season before hosting the Regional Tournament the week of February 6th. To start the week the girls will travel to Marian Central Catholic on Monday and then to Nazareth Academy on Tuesday. To end the week the girls will host Chicago Christian on Friday and Montini on Saturday. Friday night is senior night, game time is 7:30pm. Come out and show your support for the girls as they wrapped up the regular season.

The varsity girls shot 80% from the free throw line going 13 for 14 in the 4th quarter to seal a road win at Marian Central Catholic 48-42. Sarah Drury poured in 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Ally Witt added 15 and Renatta Gorski scored 7 points. The girls will play @ Nazareth Academy Tuesday night at 7:30pm.

The varsity girls were able to hang on to win again on the road 30-24 over Nazareth Academy. Sarah Drury led all scorers with 16 points. The girls will play Chicago Christian at home on Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm. Let's pack the Warrior Dome as we honor our 7 seniors.

Seniors, Tobi Ballantine, Abby Burdett, Sarah Drury, Renatta Gorski, Kelly Nemec, Michelle Suh, Ally Witt and their parents were recognized before the game vs. Chicago Christian. After 3 quarters the game was tied 29-29 but a big 4th quarter allowed for an exciting finish and a win over Chicago Christian 45-35. Ally Witt led all scorers with 16 points and Sarah Drury added 14 points.

Girls lose to Montini

Tobi Ballantine came off the bench to lead all scorers with 8 points in the loss to Montini. The girls closed out the regular season with a 15-10 overall record and a 7-3 SCC record. Post season play begins Monday, Feb. 6th at 6:00pm when the Lady Warriors host Chicago Douglass in regional play. Winner of the Wheaton Academy Regional will advance to the Sectional tournament at Timothy Christian.
