WA ends season with 54-6 loss to Montini

Warriors ended their 2011 season with a 54-6 loss to Montini. The lone score for the Warriors was a TD pass from Drew Decker to Matt Lindsay. The Warriors are thankful to seniors Drew Decker, Trey Spurgeon, Kevin Mann, Isaiah Rosas, Charlie Hamm, and Ben Franz for their commitment to the 2011 Warriors!

Warriors fall to ACC

The Warriors had a hard loss to Aurora Central Catholic and are now gearing up for their final game of the season against defending state champions Montini.

Marian Central defeats Warriors 56-16

On a beautiful Homecoming and Senior Day, the Warriors fell to Marian Central. Senior Charlie Hamm scored the first touchdown of the day in the 3rd quarter on a fumble recovery. Senior Isaiah Rosas scored on a 60-yard screen pass to close the scoring. The Warriors face ACC next Friday night at 7:30 at ACC.

Warriors Battle Valiantly in 24-6 Loss to Marmion

Wheaton Academy played a hard fought defensive game Saturday afternoon in front of a big crowd at Marmion's homecoming. Despite 4 turnovers by the WA offense in the first half, the defense hung tough led by sophomore nose tackle John Gemmel, and LB John Mark Wiersema, who also had a great day offensively rushing and receiveing. Joel Swick had the big play of the day for the offense as he scampered 80 yards on a touchdown run in the 2nd quarter. The Warriors will host Marian Central next Saturday afternoon at 3 pm for homecoming 2011.

Warrriors Victorious over Chicago Christian

The WA Warriors had a convincing first win of the season over Chicago Christain. QB Drew Decker threw for 232 yards and 3 TD's, all to Matt Lindsay who had 7 catches for 188 yards. The Warriors were also led by Joel Swick who had a 66 yard run for a TD and a 93 yard INT return for a TD. Justin Sargeant ran for his first varsity TD to finish out the scoring.

Warriors lose to Spartans

Despite another strong opening drive, the Warriors could not capitalize on the opening scoring opportunity. Drew Decker threw a TD pass to Matt Lindsay, while Joel Swick burst down the sideline 70 yards for his first career varsity TD. The Warriors look to get in the win column next week against the Knights of Chicago Christian.

St. Edwards pulls away from Warriors in 2nd Half

The Warriors once again had numerous chances in the red zone, but could not convert. Led by QB Nate Martinez and WR's Matt Lindsay, Kevin Mann, and Drew Decker, the Warriors were able to move the ball down the field. Defensively, the St. Eds rushing attack was too much for the Warriors. Sophomore nose tackle John Gemmel had a stellar night with 2 sacks.

Warriors fall to Byron 42-0

The Warriors fought hard for 48 minutes against an outstanding Byron squad. Despite four trips to the red zone, the Warriors could not convert despite big receptions from John Mark Wiersema and Matt Lindsay. The Warriors look to rebound in the SCC conference opener on Friday, September 9th against St. Eds at home at Wheaton College.

Westminster pulls away from Warriors in 2nd half

The Warriors lost a close game in St. Louis to Westminster 27-14 on Friday night. The Warriors fumbled 3 times inside their own 20, and the Lions capitalized each time with a touchdown. The Warriors were led on offense by QB's Nate Martinez and Drew Decker, who combined for 207 yards passing and 2 TD's. Decker's first TD pass was to Matt Lindsay, who led all WA receivers with 4 catches and 114 yards receiving. Martinez's TD pass came on a screen pass to leading rusher John Mark Wiersema, who rushed for 65 yards and had 45 yards receiving. The defense was paced by Peter Ferrill who had 13 tackles, Trey Spurgeon had 10, and Kevin Mann had 9 tackles and 1 interception.
