Bruce Wilson is passionate about the game of Lacrosse and coaching young men. This passion for lacrosse began in elementary school in Towson, Maryland where Bruce played on a team coached by Johns Hopkins All-American and Lacrosse Hall of Famer, Bill Morrill. That little league team won the Maryland State Championships in 1976 and 1977. In high school Bruce played midfield and attack for Towson High School in Towson, Maryland. Their team won the public high school state championship in 1982. In college, Bruce played attack for the club lacrosse team at Wheaton College scoring in every game of his collegiate career for a total of over 40 consecutive games with at least one goal. During Bruce’s senior year at Wheaton he was co-captain of the team and the player/coach for the team. The team was 9-1 that year. Bruce has coached youth lacrosse for the Wheaton Park District since 2007. For the past three years (2008, 2009 and again in 2010), youth teams that Bruce coached went undefeated during the regular season only losing in the championship tournament. Bruce has been in pastoral and cross-cultural ministry for twenty-four years including eleven years in South East Asia where Bruce and his wife, Becky, served with Pioneers. Since June 2002 Bruce has served as the Missions Pastor of College Church in Wheaton. |
