Coach Ferguson is Wheaton Academy's Athletic Director and Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Last year, the Warriors set the school record for wins in basketball with a 27-2 record and won their second regional title in the last three years. The Warriors' combined record over the last two seasons is 51-5. In the 2008-2009 season the Warriors won the IHSA Regional Championship which was only the second in school history. Prior to returning to WA in 2006, Ferguson was the assistant men’s basketball coach and intramural director at Wheaton College one of the best Division III programs in the country. During his 7 seasons the program amassed a 118-58 record. He coached and recruited numerous All Americans and had three players go on to play professionally overseas.

Ferguson, a native of Simsbury, Connecticut, is a 1994 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned a BA in History. Ferguson served as a student assistant on the John Macleod-led Irish basketball teams from 1992-94. As a member of the Fighting Irish staff he was heavily involved in scouting and recruiting during his tenure. While in college he fought in the Bengal Bouts and was named as one of the captains of the Notre Dame boxing squad in his junior year. He has also been involved as a coach at Five Star basketball camp since 1990.

In 1995, Ferguson taught at Brother Rice High School in Chicago and coached the freshman boy’s basketball team. He also served as an assistant coach on Brother Rice’s varsity squad that won the Catholic League Championship.

Coach Ferguson has masters in Arts of Teaching from Aurora University. In 2006 he completed a master’s degree from Wheaton College in Evangelism and Spiritual Formation. Paul and his wife Michelle live in Wheaton and are the proud parents of four sons: Ty, Ben, Caleb, and Samuel.
