Coach Ferguson returns for his second year as Wheaton Academy’s athletic director and 3rd as head varsity boy’s basketball coach.  Prior to returning to Wheaton Academy in 2006, Ferguson was the assistant men’s basketball coach and intramural director at Wheaton College. From 1995-99, Ferguson was a History teacher, sophomore boy’s basketball coach and varsity boy’s tennis coach at Wheaton Academy.

Ferguson, a native of Simsbury, Connecticut, is a 1994 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned a BA in History. Ferguson served as a student assistant on the John Macleod-led Irish basketball teams from 1992-94. As a member of the Fighting Irish staff he was heavily involved in scouting and recruiting during his tenure. While in college he fought in the Bengal Bouts and was named as one of the captains of the Notre Dame boxing squad in his junior year.

In 1995, Ferguson taught at Brother Rice High School in Chicago and coached the freshman boy’s basketball team. He also served as an assistant coach on Brother Rice’s varsity squad that won the Catholic League Championship.

Coach Ferguson has masters in Arts of Teaching from Aurora University. In 2006 he completed a master’s degree from Wheaton College in Evangelism and Spiritual Formation. Paul and his wife Michelle live in Wheaton and are the proud parents of three sons: Ty (4), Benjamin (2) and Caleb (1).
