Jeff Brooke (2008-Present):

Coach Brooke played his high school soccer at Wheaton Academy from 1998-2002 before playing four years at Taylor University.  At Taylor, Brooke was named an All Conference player his Junior and Senior year in addition to being named an All Region and Honorable Mention All American during his Senior campaign.  Brooke spent time as the head coach of the JV Boys’ Soccer team, Assistant Coach of the Girls’ Varsity team and club soccer head coach before taking over the Varsity program in 2008.  Brooke is certified through the USSF and currently holds his National Diploma and Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.  In addition to coaching soccer, Brooke teaches in the Bible Department, coordinates chapel, and is the Director of Student Leadership and Service at Wheaton Academy. 

Coach Brooke resides in St.Charles, IL, with his wife Rachel, his son Mason, and his daughter Natalie.

 Andy Howard, Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Howard was an All Sectional player during his four years playing at Wheaton Academy before moving on to play four more years at Taylor University.  He currently holds his National Diploma from the NSCAA and has coached five years at Wheaton Academy. Andy and his wife Kendra currently have four children (Moriah, Corban, Emmett, Brielle) and reside in St. Charles.

 

Joe Selvaggio, GK Coach and Varsity Assistant

Coach Selvaggio played his high school soccer at Wheaton Academy from 2001-2005. At WA, Joe was named an All Conference Goalkeeper his Senior year in addition to being named an All Region Honorable Mention. He then went on to play four years at Wheaton College. During his time there, Wheaton had a National Championship appearance and won 2 conference championships. Coach Selvaggio spent time as the goalkeeper coach for Kopion FC, before taking over his role as the WA GK coach 2009. In addition to coaching soccer, Joe currently works as a wholesaler for John Hancock in Downers Grove and currently resides in Wayne, IL.

 

Jason VanderVeen, JV Head Coach

Coach VanderVeen played for Wheaton Academy from 2002-2006.  He was a four year Varsity starter and two year captain. He was a three year All-Conference selection and two year All-State selection.  In 2005, he was named to the Daily Herald All-Area team and second team All-American NCSAA.  In 2006, he was named first team All-American and Player of the Year for the NCSAA.  He went on to play at Wheaton College from 2006-2010 and was a four year starter. In 2006, Wheaton College finished 2nd in the National Tournament. This is Coach VanderVeen’s first year with our program. 

 

Robert Baptista, JV Assistant Coach
Robert Baptista played for Timothy Christian High School’s Varsity Team from 2001-2003, and was selected to be All-Conference in 2002 when the team first reached Elite Eight in the state tournament.  He attended Taylor University, where he played soccer all four years, playing with Coach Howard and Coach Brooke for one and two years, respectively.  2011 will be Coach Baptista’s  fourth year as Assistant JV soccer coach.  He is very excited to continue his participation with Wheaton Academy while he pursues a degree in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton Graduate School.
