Name: Bob Broman
Sport: Golf
Position: Varsity Head Coach

Bob Broman joined the WA Coaching Staff as Head Golf Coach in 2000. At other schools, Bob has had experience coaching swimming, soccer and basketball.
In the eleven seasons of Bob’s tenure, the golf program has compiled a dual match record of 117 wins and 24 losses. WA teams have earned six IHSA Regional Championships, three IHSA Sectional Championships, and five Conference Championships. In ten of the eleven years, at least one player has advanced to the IHSA State Championship Finals with five of them earning all-state honors. In 2005, the Golf Team placed fifth at the State Finals. This feat was repeated in 2007 and the team finished 3rd in 2008. In 2009, the Warriors won the State Championship. Five graduates have continued their competitive golf careers at colleges and universities and two more graduates are members of the PGA of America. Bob has four times been voted Coach of the Year by the other golf coaches in the conference.
Bob believes that the game of golf provides an opportunity to teach certain godly virtues that perhaps is not available in any other sport. Since golf requires players to call penalties on themselves, a higher level of integrity, honesty, and knowledge of the rules is expected of golfers than is required in sports where officials are present to make calls during competitions.
Bob also serves as the Director of Development and Business Operations for Wheaton Christian Grammar School. He is married and has three adult children, all of whom attended and graduated from Wheaton Academy. He and his wife attend Faith Baptist Church of Winfield and are actively involved in several of the church’s ministries.
