Sport: Football Position: Assistant Coach At Wheaton Academy since: 2006 Non-Coaching Responsibilities: Mathematics teacher, Weight room supervisor
Assistant varsity coach Markus Berger serves as the defensive coordinator for the Warriors, while also working heavily with the offensive linemen and outside linebackers. Berger joined the Wheaton Academy family in 2006 serving as an articulate and energetic mathematics teacher as well as overseer of the weight room and the strength programs in all WA athletic programs. As a football player at Normandy High School in Parma, Ohio, Coach Berger earned all-league and all-county honors and continued on to become a three-year starter as center at the College of Wooster (Wooster, OH). Recently married, Markus and his wife Anjali reside in Carol Stream. A favorite verse of Coach Berger's is Micah 6:8: "...What does the Lord require of you, but to love mercy, to do justice, and walk humbly with your God." |
