EIU Lands Guard from Chicago Suburbs Warriors Open Tournament with a Win The boy's varsity opened their 2011 Thanksgiving Invite with a win over Downers Grove North. The warriors jumped out to a 18-8 first quarter lead and held on to win 40-38. The boys play again Tuesday night against Streamwood at 8:00 pm.Boys basketball wins
Warriors Turn Up the Intensity The boy's varsity defeated Streamwood 66-42 to win their second game of their Thanksgiving Tournament. Warriors Take Down Tigers Wheaton Academy's Boy's Varsity defeated Wheaton South 43-37 on Friday night in front of a large crowd in the Warrior Dome. The boys played hard and aggressive recording 12 steals and grabbing 14 offensive rebounds.The win improves the Warriors record to 3-0 and sets them up for a showndown with Bartlett tomorrow night in the championship game of the Thanksgiving Invite. Hawks Take Down Warriors Bartlett and Wheaton Academy played a hard fought championship game in the Warrior Dome with Bartlett coming out on top 53-47. Hawks senior guard Jonathan Moss nailed a 3 pointer with one minute left to put Bartlett up by 2 points and the Warriors were not able to recover. Warriors Fall to Saint Viator Wheaton Academy lost a hard fought contest to Saint Viator in a non-conference game on Friday night. The Lions were led by senior guard Kevin Walsh who scored 17 points while WA sophomore Gordon Behr scored 9 points. Warriors Drop Road Contest to St. Francis The boys dropped their conference opener on the road to SCC rival Saint Francis 67-59 in front of a packed house in Wheaton. The Warriors had a balanced scoring attack with 4 players in double figures led by junior guard Colin Roy's 13 points but could not overcome their woes from the free throw line going 23-35. Warriors Defeat Hurricanes The boys varsity got a big win on the road against conference rival Marian Central Catholic 62-55. Senior Lars Olson got hot from the outside scoring 21 points and Junior Colin Roy followed his lead with 15. Cameron Harvey held Marian's leading scorer Ross Langlois to 7 points while chipping in 8 of his own to go with 4 steals. Warriors Take Down Eagles The boy's varsity won its second conference game in a row defeating the Aurora Christian Eagles 45-40. Sophomore Gordon Behr led the Warriors in scoring with 14 points going 8-10 from the free throw line. The Warriors had their best performance from the free throw line this season going 19-25 and making 9 free throw in the 4th quarter. Warriors Run Past Chargers The varsity boy's defeated conference foe Aurora Central Catholic 71-53 on Wednesday night at the Warrior Dome. The boy's were able to get their running game going and recorded 18 assists on numerous fast break opportunities. The Warriros were led by senior Cameron Harvey's 15 points and had great contributions off the bench from Gabe Partain, Cole Fritz, Jake Cousins, Trey Spurgeon, and Ryan Bugh. Warriors Defeat Timothy Christian In the opening game of the Glenbard West Christmas tournament the Warriors defeated former PSL conference rival Timothy Christian 58-46. The Warriors got out to a hot start taking a 12 point lead into halftime and finished the game by shooting 10-14 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter. Warriors Lose at the Buzzer to Saints Wheaton Academy lost to Saint Charles East 47-46 at the Glenbard West Tournament. Senior guard Drew Sandberg knocked down a free throw with 2.9 seconds left to put the Warriors up 1. On the ensuing possession the Saints Adam Ludke hit a runner at the buzzer to give Saint Charles East the victory. Warrior to Play in Championship Game The boy's defeated Addison Trail in their third game of the Glenbard West Christmas Tournament 61-46. The Warriors were led by junior guard Collin Roy's 18 points.The win earned them the opportunity to play in the championship game Friday night against the undefeated Hilltoppers of Glenbard West. The Warriors ended pool play tied for first with Timothy Christian and Saint Charles East as all three teams had a 2-1 record. The tiebreaker was points allowed and the Warriors stingy defense had given up a tournament low 46.3 points per game. The Championship game will be played at 8 pm Friday night.Boys basketball wins
Glenbard West Takes Title From Warriors The boy's varsity put up a great fight in the championship game of the Glenbard West tournament but didn't have enough firepower to beat the undefeated Hilltoppers who end 2011 a perfect 10-0. The Warriors were down 3 points heading into the 4th quarter but couldn't withstand Glenbard West's 16-3 run. The boy's return to action January 7th at 7:30 pm in San Diego.Boys basketball wins
Warriors Drop Winterim Game in California Wheaton Academy lost to San Diego Christian 55-54 Saturday night in El Cajon, California. It was a hard fought game with WA leading by 1 with 7 seconds left after a Cam Harvey free throw gave them the lead. San Diego forward Jamie Dixon drove the length of the court and tipped in his miss to win the game at the buzzer. Warriors Take Down Cadets The Warriors defeated Marmion Academy 63-44 Friday night in a conference game to improve to 4-1 and remain in a tie for first place. The guys took an 8 point lead into the locker room at half time and came storming out in the third for a 23 point quarter that blew the game open as the Warriors took a 25 point lead into the 4th quarter. The guys were paced by 17 points from Colin Roy and 10 from Gordon Behr. The Warriors play Proviso West at the Naperville North Shootout tomorrow at 1:30 pm.Boys basketball wins
Warriors Lose to Proviso West Wheaton Academy played perennial state powerhouse Proviso West on Saturday at the Naperville North Shootout. The Warriors played an outstanding first half and took a19 point lead into the locker room at half time. In the second half the Pirates inched there way back in through tough pressure defense and were able to pull away in the final seconds of the game with clutch free throw shooting for an 81-76 victory. Warriors Run Past Broncos Wheaton Academy travelled to Lombard Tuesday night to square off against Montini Catholic. The Warriors came away with a 68-57 victory to improve their conference record to 5-1. The Warriors started strong and led by 16 at half and 21 after three quarters. Warriors Hot at Aurora The Warriors defeated Aurora Christian 71-57 on the road to stay in first place in the SCC Blue division at 5-1. The Warriors played a great game throwing 15 assists on 23 made baskets and knocking down 13 three pointers, which was a season high. Junior, Colin Roy had his career high 26 points followed by 20 points for Cameron Harvey and 18 for Lars Olson. The seniors combined for 36 points in the game and helped Wheaton Academy jump out to a 28-9 halftime lead. Warriors Win 7th Straight Game Wheaton Academy defeated sectional foe North Lawndale 65-56. It was big win for the Warriors as North Lawndale was seeded 7th in the regional, two spots ahead of the Warriors. The guys handled North Lawndale's pressure all night and stepped up to hit big shots. It was a very physical game as both teams battled for rebounds and loose balls. Senior Cameron Harvey played an incredible game and led the Warriors with 33 points on 7 three point shots. Warriors Defeat Cadets The Warriors defeated Marmion Academy 69-50 in Aurora on Friday night to close out the regular season 17-9. The win gave the Warriors a 9-1 conference record as they won their third conference championship in a row. The Cadets came out hard on their senior night in front of a large crowd but could not handle the hot shooting of the Warriors who led by senior Cameron Harvey's 22 first half points. In the second half sophomore Gordon Behr scored 13 of his 16 points and Collin Roy hit 2 three's to finish with 12. Spartans Defeat Warriors Wheaton Academy dropped a 52-44 decision to Saint Francis in the Warrior Dome on Tuesday night in the IHSA Regional.
